WINTER SOCCER FOR COMPETITIVE PLAYERS

Competitive play is our current highest level of soccer play (although we will be introducing "Celtic Academy" track for older players soon).  Competitive play covers a fairly wide range of teams, players and playing opportunities and winter soccer is a part of SFGE's competitive program only available to current SF Glens Evolution competitive players to support the development of players during the off season. 

For winter season, the first few teams of an age group (Black and Green) play at the highest levels of travel soccer available to them and participate in NorCal State Cup, which runs from fall into January sometimes February.   Other competitive teams will participate in Futsal/indoor soccer league by SF Rec and Park Department. 

NorCal STATE CUP

The NorCal State Cup has become the premier soccer event for youth soccer teams in Northern California.  This unique competition is a combination of both league-style and tournament-style play.  Much like a league, the NorCal State Cup is a series of games that begin in August and last an entire season.  The NorCal State Cup consist of three rounds.  Two rounds of group play consisting of three games each, and a knock-out round.  Each team is guaranteed to play at least 6 games, including a quarterfinal match in the knock-out round.  To learn more about the NorCal State Cup, please click here.

FUTSAL/INDOOR SOCCER

SFRPD JOSE CORONADO INDOOR SOCCER LEAGUE
​Beginning on Sunday, January 8th, at 13 SFRPD Recreation Centers across the city, boys and girls teams, from U5 – U18, in recreational, intermediate, and advanced divisions will compete in our 18th Season of 5-on-5 SFRPD Indoor Soccer!  The rules are similar to traditional futsal – it is a fast-paced, exciting game and the league serves as a great opportunity to develop each child/team’s fundamental skills leading up to the spring outdoor season and, hopefully, a lifelong love of soccer.  To learn more about the SFRPD indoor soccer league, please click here.
